Gutters
What is included, and how it goes.
Gutters are part of the roof system. Their job is to move water off the roof edge and away from the house, and when they fail, the damage shows up in the fascia, the landscaping and, in North Texas clay soil, the foundation.
We install one-piece gutters, formed on site to the length of each run so there are no joints to leak along the way. Downspouts are placed and extended to carry water away from the slab, and gutter guards are available for homes under trees where leaves would otherwise fill the gutters every fall.

The work
Most jobs are finished in a single day, weather permitting, and the site is cleaned before we leave.
The Difference
Worth knowing before you decide.
Repairs cover the usual failures: leaking corners and end caps, sections that sag or pull away from the fascia, and downspouts that have come apart. Where the fascia board behind the gutter has rotted, it gets replaced so the new gutter has something solid to hang from.
Soil matters here. The expansive clay under most of Tarrant County swells when it gets wet and shrinks as it dries. Water dumped at the corner of a house every time it rains keeps one part of the foundation wetter than the rest, and uneven moisture is what moves slabs. Good gutters and properly extended downspouts are one of the cheapest ways to protect a foundation.
A new roof is a good time to replace old gutters, since the drip edge and the gutter work together and both can be fitted properly while the edge of the roof is open. Storm damage to gutters is also commonly included in a roof insurance claim.

Gutters, answered.
Are one-piece gutters better?
For most homes, yes. They are made to the length of each run, so there are no seams along the way to leak.
Do I need gutter guards?
If your house sits under trees, guards cut down on clogs and cleaning. On an open lot with no overhanging branches they matter less.
Can gutters help my foundation?
Yes. Carrying roof water away from the slab keeps the clay soil around the house at a more even moisture level, which is what helps prevent movement.
Does insurance cover gutters damaged by hail?
Often, when the damage is from a covered storm. Dented gutters are commonly included in a roof claim.
